Environmental Roundtable

Within its effort to support environmental protection projects and initiatives, as well as working on achieving the sustainable development goals and mitigating the adverse effects of climate change, the Hanns Seidel Foundation has begun holding series of environmental round tables. The main aim of these roundtables is to arrive at achievable initiatives, and projects in the field of environment protection.

On Sunday the 19th of March, the first roundtable was held in the presence of experts in the field of environment from different governorates across Egypt. The topic of this roundtable revolved around the efforts of Dakahlia Governorate in Solid Waste Management (SWM), the successful projects that were already carried out in that regard, and the challenges facing the sustainability of such projects.

The experts engaged in a fruitful discussion to propose solutions for the presented challenges, and agreed on meeting regularly to discuss prevalent environmental challenges, work on finding solutions to eliminate it, as well as proposing beneficial projects in the field of environment protection.
