The Environment Day

In an effort to raise awareness on the importance of protecting the environment, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Hanns Seidel Foundation collaborated in hosting an Environment Day Event, under the theme reduce, reuse & recycle.

Participants went on a tour of awareness raising booths from several institutions, including schools, universities and civil society institutions, as well as attended a participatory workshop on recycling plastic & paper waste and a science show on the importance of biodiversity. The event also included an exhibition titled „Atlas Mediterranean“, where the participants learn about the history of coastal cities in collaboration with Goethe Institut in Egypt, Greece & Italy. The event kick started an environmental campaign, which takes place in 6 governorates during November.
