Celebrating the International Day for Persons with Disabilities

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was celebrated with an event that launched the cooperation between Hanns Seidel Foundation and Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The event aimed at promoting the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the society and included artistic performances by persons with disabilities.

On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSS) and Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA), launched their mutual cooperation with an event which concluded a series of inclusion programs that started weeks before. Besides raising awareness on the different types of disability while spreading the message of accepting our differences, this event aimed at promoting the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the society. The celebration was held with 1500 attendees including over a 1000 children and youth with disabilities as well as representatives of institutions supporting them. It included artistic performances by persons with disabilities and was concluded by handing out gifts for outstanding participation and certificates of appreciation for all participants in the performances.
