Egyptian Protectorates Protectors (EPP)

With an international focus and increased demand on environmental protection, Hanns Seidel Foundation and Bibliotheca Alexandrina collaborated to prepare the “Egyptian Protectorates Protectors” campaign that supports environmental protection actions in several Egyptian protected areas with the assistance of youth and children. The program consisted mainly of a campaign in Egyptian protected areas (PAs) and an Environment Day celebration.

Environmental degradation has proved to cause severe problems all over the world. Within its efforts to conserve the environment and its objective  to support the participation of youth in the Sustainable Development, Hanns Seidel Foundation organized a program with Bibliotheca Alexandrina where students participating in the campaign did not only participate in protecting actions, but also were offered workshops and interactive lectures explaining the sustainable development goals, energy conservation practices, and ways for household waste reduction. The program aimed to raise awareness of youth and children about environmental protection as well as raising the capacities of rangers regarding environmental campaigns.
