The event aimed to teach the public various environmental topics such as ecosystems, recycling, desertification, biodiversity and endangered species of Egypt. Educating the public about these topics raised their awareness of the importance of maximizing the utility of the limited resources, keeping the ecological balance intact for the future generations, and conserving the environment as it is the cornerstone of sustainable development. It also raised their awareness of the importance of science and scientific thinking. The celebration promoted science literacy and facilitated awareness of environmental issues through interactive educational activities accompanied by entertaining science performances. It also presented environmental issues accessibly and entertainingly to a broad audience and demonstrated that science can be fun.
