Environmental Awareness: Protected Areas in Egypt

Hanns Seidel Foundation collaborated with the Public Administration Research and Consultation Center in organizing its 1^st environmental seminar in 2020 titled “Environmental Awareness: Protected Areas in Egypt”, to raise the awareness of university students, graduates and staff. Dr. Kohar Garo, Professor at the Faculty of Science, Cairo University and Director of the Environmental Communication Center at the Faculty reviewed Egypt’s environmental history and discussed topics such as, bio-diversity and threats facing protected areas in Egypt. The participants filled a questionnaires based on which a selected group was selected for a field visit to Wadi Degla Protected Area.
