Mid-year Program for Persons with Visual Disabilities

“Know Yourself”, “Around the World”, and “Black Hole and Stars”. These were some of the titles of the sessions of the Mid-year Program for persons with visual disabilities, which was held by Bibliotheca Alexandrina “Taha Hussein library” in cooperation with Hanns-Seidel Foundation.

During the period from 29.01.2023 to 09.02.2023, Taha Hussein library has held the Mid-year program for persons with visual disability, aged between 5 to 20 years. The program was tailored to suit the children, and aimed at rehabilitating persons with visual disability to be integrated into the society the way their sighted peers are, as well as enhancing their artistic and cultural skills. The sessions were designed to help the participants gain new experience, sharpen their creativity along with supporting them to be self-independent.

The program also included a session for the parents of the participants in an aim to provide them with guidance on how to best treat their children.
