Promoting the Education of People with Hearing Impairment in the Egyptian Universities

Hanns Seidel Foundation cooperated with Bibliotheca Alexandrina in organizing a series of workshops aiming to promote the education of people with hearing impairment in Egyptian universities. The various workshops were implemented in 14 governorates and included students with and without hearing impairment.

Hanns Seidel Foundation cooperated with Bibliotheca Alexandrina to spread the message of co-existence in Egyptian universities in 14 different governorates. Workshops were organized and divided into 3 main types; Life Skills and Crafts for students with hearing impairment as well sign language for students without hearing impairment, where instructors presented an introduction on sign language along with some basic signs. The workshops included a series of group activities where students applied the basic signs learnt during the sign language workshops with their fellow students with hearing impairment in the life skills and crafts workshops.
