Soft skills workshop for persons with visual disabilities

Egypt has a large number of persons with disabilities in both urban and rural areas having very limited access to the basic social services and economic opportunities. The vast majority of persons with disabilities are excluded from societal participation and employment opportunities.

In collaboration with Fajr Al Tanweer Assoc. for the Blind persons the Hanns Seidel Foundation is organizing a series of training workshops on the basic Life Skills for Persons with visual disabilities aiming at qualifying them to meet the labour market needs and find suitable jobs.

The Hanns Seidel Foundation collaborated with Fajr Al Tanweer Assoc. for the Blind in organizing the first workshop in a series of different training workshops for youth with visual impairment on Soft Skills including employability skills and Job-hunting tips as well as practical sessions on Mobility, Orientation and the use of the white Cane as well as training on the use of Mobile apps tailored for blind persons.

The Training program lies within the objectives of the Foundation to empower PWD economically and to support their social inclusion by having the chance for suitable work opportunities on equal basis with others.
