The Arab Environment Day

Hanns Seidel Foundation collaborated with Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) in celebrating the Arab Environmental Day by raising awareness on environment issues through interactive workshops. The BA’s courtyard was divided into several stations, each tackling a specific issue; one for the carbon footprint using an interactive game, another demonstrated how to recycle different types of waste (food, fabric, glass and plastic). The event also included a visit to the BA planetarium, where participants saw a short educational movie about the effect of water pollution on marine life. Throughout the day, distinguished participants received an “Eco Hero” sash. The event was followed by 4 governorate visits, where participants engaged in interactive workshops at the BA Exploration Center and visited the Wadi Al Assiuti Protectorate in Assiut.
